Call for Proposals: Break The Pattern (Women Techmakers IWD 2026)
Women Techmakers Vienna invites you to speak at our International Women’s Day 2026 conference—built around the global theme “Break The Pattern”.
This year, we’re spotlighting the patterns around
- who got into tech
- how they got there
- and what happened when they decide to step up once they’re in the room.
We’re looking for talks from women with different backgrounds, careers, and skill sets—especially non-traditional paths into tech. Maybe you pivoted from another industry, came through self-study, bootcamps, university later in life. If you’ve ever thought, “My path isn’t typical,” that’s exactly the point: your story helps break the pattern for someone else.
We also want sessions about breaking patterns at work: moments where you went beyond your role, expanded your abilities, and pushed past comfort zones—advocating for better processes, raising quality, shipping improvements, mentoring others, speaking up in meetings, leading without the title, or tackling a problem everyone avoided. Not because it was easy, but because you did it anyway—despite the fear, the doubt, or the “I’m not ready yet” voice.
If you’ve changed something for the better—through courage, curiosity, persistence, or learning out loud—submit a proposal. First-time speakers are welcome.
Bring your story, your lessons, your turning point—and help others break the pattern as well.
